One Ocean Science Congress: Code of Conduct
Purpose
The One Ocean Science Congress (OOS Congress) is committed to ensuring a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants. Attendees should be treated with fairness and dignity throughout the event.
Applicability
This code of conduct applies to the duration of the OOS Congress. All participants, including organizers, attendees, and support staff, are expected to adhere to this code.
Scope
Participants must:
- Treat others with respect and dignity, prohibiting any form of harassment, including sexual harassment. Harassment includes any unwelcome conduct that could cause offense or humiliation based on gender, sexual orientation, race, age, religion, or other personal characteristics. Examples include inappropriate comments, gestures, or physical contact.
- Cooperate with security staff.
- Refrain from taking photos or videos of scientific material shown in presentations if the presenter specifically does not allow it. Presenters are encouraged to inform the audience if they do not welcome screenshots or sharing on social media: sharing is not permitted.
Accountability
Organizations and individuals are responsible for their conduct. Violations of this code may result in actions such as:
- Suspension or termination of event access.
- Referral to disciplinary authorities.

By participating in the OOS Congress, attendees agree to abide by this code of conduct, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.
