ECOP Insiders: Witnesses of the One Ocean Science Congress

ECOP Insiders is an initiative led by the Ocean Institute of the Sorbonne University Alliance and the french Marine University Network (RUM), on behalf of the French universities that are part of the One Ocean Science Congress (OOSC) Organizing Committee:
Aix-Marseille Université, La Rochelle Université, Le Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Sorbonne Université, Université Côte d'Azur, Université de Bretagne Occidentale, Université de Toulon.
Who are the ECOP Insiders?
A team of multilingual early-career ocean professionals (ECOPs) selected to observe and amplify the key scientific messages shared during the event, using their unique perspectives and networks.
Their Role:
Communicate Key Insights: They will share important takeaways from the Congress in their native languages, including Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
Social Media Updates: Expect 4-5 posts per day on popular social media platforms relevant to their regions.
Simplify Complex Topics: They will spotlight significant scientific discussions, transforming complex subjects into engaging, accessible content.
A Collaboration Between Science & Journalism
To enhance their storytelling, each ECOP Insider will be paired with a journalism student from CELSA, the Journalism and Communication School of Sorbonne University.
Pre-Congress Training: They will receive specialized training from CELSA to hone their communication skills.
On-Site Reporting: During the Congress, they will attend scientific sessions, engage with researchers, and serve as key witnesses to pivotal discussions shaping the future of ocean science.
By translating key scientific discussions into engaging content, ECOP Insiders will make the insights of the One Ocean Science Congress more accessible to young audiences around the world.
Disclaimer: ECOP Insiders are not official representatives of the One Ocean Science Congress. The views and opinions they will share online are solely their own.
This initiative is led by Institut de l’Océan, CELSA, Réseau français des Universités Marines , UBO, IOC Unesco, OOSC + ECOP Programme IOC Unesco.
