Town hall meetings
On-site town hall meetings provide an active discussion platform open to all conference participants. These meetings are designed to share and discuss new initiatives or opportunities of interest to various disciplines. Presentations are followed by an open discussion or round table on the topics raised.
Town hall meetings will be held at lunchtime, in the lecture rooms of the congress center (1 hour). The organizers do not offer a hybrid format for these meetings. They are non-commercial, and topics should not compete with or duplicate those of scientific sessions. Additionally, these meetings cannot be used to extend scientific sessions.
Selection of town hall meetings
Town hall meetings are subject to approval by the International Scientific Committee. The deadline for proposals is 13 December 2024 (13:00 CET). Upon acceptance, the meetings will be listed in the programme of the OOS Congress as sessions.
Criteria for proposed speakers:
- Gender balance
- Geographically diverse
- At least one ECOP (an individual less than 10 years of professional experience in any field related to the ocean).
- Please consider involving speakers from low income countries.
